Two years ago my sister-in-law got a beautiful 4ft x 4ft x 1 rail raised garden kit for her backyard to grow her herbs and lettuces. She talked about how wonderful it was to have an area right outside of her kitchen door to go out and pick fresh herbs from for cooking and to always have lettuces for sandwiches and salads. Frankly, I was jealous but there was no way I could have a raised bed in an apartment.

Then last winter I moved to a townhouse with a very small backyard and thought that I could get a raised bed to grow a few things that would make my cooking a little bit more fresh. In doing the research, I found the Urban Garden Raised Bed, which claims that you can plant up to 54 plants including tomatoes, peppers, lettuces and an assortment of other wonderful vegetables in a 4 x 4 space. Well, the price was right so I bought it and it has been one of the best investments I have ever made. Though I didn’t need the 54 plants it said I could plant, I did plant close to 40 and they did very well. I’m looking forward to this years crop and to see what I can do again. Highly recommended!
