Serving chicken breasts more than once a week can be tricky.  I know you probably have dozens of good recipes, but, like me, don’t you get tired of making the same ones over and over?  And wouldn’t you love to be able to serve your family more budget friendly and nutritious foods like navy beans? Making a Chicken Cassoulet, or white bean stew, using chicken instead of the traditional sausage or duck will really trim the fat as well as the cost.  But, believe me, this is a true cassoulet by anyone’s definition.

Many slowcooker recipes use traditional meals with just a few twists to change them to a crock pot meal.  I like using as many of the traditional ingredients as I can, like dried navy beans, for instance, to achieve an authentic cassoulet, for instance.  But, don’t let that stop you from experimenting!  There are many new-and-improved crock pot recipes that are worth a try.  I haven’t had any recipes totally fail me yet, and because you know what your family likes to eat, you should experiment a little, too.
